KUALA LUMPUR: Nokia has locally introduced its E7 business smartphone, which the company says is designed to be a powerful mobile office, providing productivity solutions for professionals.
The E7, for example, is bundled with Mail for Exchange, Microsoft Communicator Mobile and supports Intranet and Extranet portals built on Microsoft Share Point Server. These solutions offer professionals secure and real-time access to corporate systems.
For added security, the E7 is pre-loaded with F-Secure anti-theft protection software to remotely locate, lock and wipe misplaced devices.
Users will also find the E7 pre-installed with productivity applications like Vlingo and World Traveller along with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
For a better user experience, the E7 offers touchscreen capability as well as a full Qwerty keyboard.
The E7 is equipped with 4in Amoled ClearBlack display (widescreen 640 x 360-pixels) for improved visibility both indoors and outdoors. The E7, which runs on Nokia's Symbian 3 operating system, comes with HDMI output that allows user to view HD videos and images on HD TVs.
To capture photos and HD video, the E7 comes with a 8-megapixel camera and dual LED flash. Other notable features include Ovi Maps, 16GB of on-board flash memory, a 1200mAh lithium-ion battery, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and a USB On-the-Go adapter (for connecting thumbdrives).
The E7 has a retail price of RM1,995 and will be available from this weekend onwards. It will also be offered with packages through Maxis and Celcom.
